Don’t Fall Into the Trap—Whites & Blacks Don’t Exist—Race is a Category of the Mind, Not of Reality
Race is a category of the mind (a “universal,” in philosophy), not a category of reality, e.g., “basket of deplorables” (of mind) to describe Trump voters (of reality), and “snowflakes” (of mind) to describe social political liberals (of reality). Race is a fiction. Fictions, such as created stories, are real—they exist in mind and in language—but they are not true—they do not accurately reflect reality. “Anyone who adopts the term [white, black, brown, etc.] is internalizing the commands of his oppressors and asking for trouble.” -E. Michael Jones (BitChute.com) “White people” were invented by playwright Thomas Middleton in his 1613 play The Triumphs of Truth. The term “white people” was used by an African king character speaking to the audience members who generally were of European descent. This is one of many examples of how art (or propaganda) can distort (or popularize the distortion of) widespread public perception of reality and lead to social political catastrophe including individual or group persecution, including eugenics and genocide. Other noteworthy examples are Socrates being condemned to death by a court of law as a result of the depiction of him in Aristophanes’ play The Clouds, and the conception of persons of African descent being denigrated by minstrel shows). So-called “whites” and so-called “blacks” used to be called—and still are by astute people who do not fall for the divisive, hate-generating traps of racialist identity politics—by the names of their tribes, ethnicities or nationalities such as Celts, Saxons, Ibos, Zulus, Irish, Germans, Nigerians, Zimbabweans, etc. The Founding Fathers of the United States and their contemporaries (and colonial American culture in general) were fallacious in legally codifying the concepts of “whites” and “blacks” in legislation such as the Nationality Act of 1790 (which granted citizen naturalization eligibility to “free white persons”). This sociopolitical ethos descended from that of the Westphalian system which established the nation-state paradigm based directly on ethnicity. Entertaining or dignifying any argument based on the arbitrary, mental construct of race is passive participation in or condonation of the propagation of error, divisiveness, the kindling for hateful racism and the divide-and-conquer strategy of the supremacist oligarchs.
