This video is a compilation of media coverage of the Monday, March 4th, 2019 brutal Robbery that occurred along the 7400 block of Waring Avenue just after 4:00 p.m. In the various stories, one thing stands out — the statement made from our Los Angeles City Council member that crime is down doesn’t match up with neighborhood / merchant sentiment and with official LAPD crime maps and even our own reporting. In fact, L.A. City Attorney Mike Feuer himself toured the business district on Tuesday, March 12th and told Melrose Action that “there’s been 13 – 13 street robberies recently compared to 4 – 4 a year ago” and we are going to do all we can to stop it (paraphrasing here), a sharp contrast to Council member Koretz statement made outside of Pinks’ Hot Dogs… Years ago, City Attorney Mike Feuer was the past council member for our area.
L.A.P.D. Wilshire Station detectives tell us that the suspects are still at large and the investigation is ongoing. Our L.A.P.D. Senior Lead Officer Ian O’Brien wants the community to know that they have in fact increased patrols in the area and are hyper-focused on crime suppression operations in the area.
