Death end re Quest - Playthrough Part 1

Started playing Death End re;Quest - an action JRPG with what seems to be a surprisingly dark story. You start the game and immediately the protagonist - Shina is killed in a brutal fashion. She then wakes up in an empty house having lost her memories. She learns from a merchant that the world is corrupted and quite a few people are going mad due to an illness, from which Shina also suffers. She goes to the king to earn some money as a guard, but he has also lost his marbles and orders her execution. The whole thing feels really oppressive and dark, even more so than games like Mary Skelter. Then there's a shift in the story as a programmer named Arata contacts Shina and reveals that she's actually in a VR MMORPG, which is pretty meta. She escapes and then we see Arata at his work place - a game development company. Shina apparently had a real world counterpart who was in charge of the game project, but mysteriously disappeared.

Gameplay wise I only fought a couple of tutorial battles, but it looks like each character can stack up to 3 commands and then execute them after positioning and targeting the enemies. There's also a glitch mechanic where above 80% corruption your character becomes more powerful and has access to some devastating attacks, but it's quite risky since at 100% corruption you get a game over.
