Decided to go back to the first levels with all my new abilities to see what secrets I've missed. Upon finding one route I couldn't previously access I went in and I was met by a section of pure sadism - you have to wall climb while spikes are coming from below. The wall itself also has spiked sections and flying enemies whose sole purpose is to hit you once and push you into the spikes. It took several tries but eventually I reached a secret boss, who wasn't too challenging in comparison and I was rewarded with an SP upgrade. If all secrets are that frustrating I doubt I'll go back to find them all.
