A resident living near McKinley High School says "I have seen everything from public urination, smoking of pot, drug deals, fights."
Last Thursday, a teacher at the school was body slammed by a 14-year-old freshman boy. The teacher says he took the boy's cell phone away because he was listening to music during class. When he called the student's parent, it wasn't a minute later before the teacher says the boy threw things at a him, started swearing and calling him vile names.
Teachers and neighbors say student behavior changed at McKinley after longtime principal Crystal Boling Barton was placed on leave. Her case remains in arbitration. Neighbors notice a difference, stating "she ran a tight ship, these are children they need supervision."
The teacher injured told 2 On Your Side that "teachers and students feel unsafe."
The current acting principal is Marck Abraham.
"This is one of the first schools that we've ever had that the teachers took a vote of no confidence (in a principal) because of what was going on in that school," said Rumore.

DETROIT (FOX 2) - A Detroit High School teacher was attacked and hospitalized Thursday. She is expected to recover and in stable condition - but what happened is nothing short of cringe worthy.
A young man attacked the woman, who's old enough to be his grandmother. Phone video shows the aftermath of what students said was a vicious attack on the substitute teacher at Cody High School.
"He ran up on the old lady hit her, pushed her on the ground and hit her again," said Brandon Antisdel. "That's not something anybody should do, especially to an old lady."

BALTIMORE, Md. — Friday was the first meeting of the new Baltimore City Schools Safety Task Force.
The group was created after three attacks on teachers in the city by students in the last month had educators concerned. The meeting was held to find solutions to these assaults in Baltimore City.
Mark Missouri and Leaynol Tiede are seniors at Dunbar high school. They say this anger and frustration from some students starts off in their home life before they even get to the classroom.
"And that’s why I think that we should build a connection with these students so that we can know the problems that are coming in so we can try to stop them before it excavates to this point," said Tiede.
These students say the pressure of living in the city, be it the violence of the streets or problems in the home, make it hard to turn off when they come to school.
