The next boss holding a key to the portal was a pair of minotaurs. Their attacks are far reaching and one of them summons more enemies, so it's best to quickly dispatch the first one and then deal with the minions of the second one before ultimately facing him. The cost of skill upgrades became ludicrously hard, so it's best investing into weapon upgrades instead to improve your damage. Spells are not worth the money since you only get a marginal upgrades and their function is mostly to guard against projectiles.
