Little Witch Nobeta - Playthrough Part 5

After a couple of deaths caused by self-explosions I decided to go back to the Ice spell when facing Monica. This worked out well since when charged the Ice spell gives you some armour, which is very helpful against the homing projectiles. Not getting damaged by your spells also helps. I managed to defeat her, but then she falls into the lava and instead of having the good manners to die, she just grows giant and reveals her second form. I nearly defeated her, but thankfully you start from this form if you die. The key I found is to shoot at the energy ball which she charges - if you do enough damage it explodes in her face briefly stunning her giving you a chance to charge your spell. At some points she will try to crush you with her hands and I couldn't find an effective way to dodge this, so I'm guessing you have to counter it, but I didn't get the timing. Eventually I defeated her and the game wanted me to feel sorry for her, but that's a bit difficult after all those losses and the fact that she killed her companions. Further along Nobeta loses her hat to the wind and wants to retrieve it while the cat grumbles. It's obvious that the cat is manipulating the little witch, but it's unclear to what end.
