Liedtext:
English Translation:
"You pretty young horsemen, when you move into the field
I ask you to take a rose branch with you to my friend."
"How should we find him, for France's army is big?"
"His coat of arms is a rose branch, his horse shines as bright as silver."
"Oh, beautiful one at the window, we know the rider.
He fell in Brittany, which is far, far from here.
Four poor Franciscans, they sang in the night.
It was on the edge of the heather where they made his grave."
"You pretty young horsemen, when you move into the field,
I ask you to take a rose branch with you for his grave."
