WOODWORKING…MAKING A TALL WOODEN PLANTER BOX

This unit is made of 3 pieces 5/4 x 6 x 10 ft Long and 1 piece of 2 x4 x 8 all of which is pressure treated. When possible I lay out full size drawings for clarity. In this case all the angles were cut a 5 degrees. The side slats were put together using pocket screw technology prior to assembly. All joints were secured with water proof glue for extra durability. If you take your time, and measure accurately, the assembly of the unit becomes quite easy. This unit turned out 29 inches tall and 22 1/2 inches wide at the top. All the panels and trim were sanded first to 80 grit and then 120 grit. The unit will be painted to match the shutters of the house as it will sit between the two garage doors.
